Flat 16/9/21
Flat Racing Thursday 16th September
Ayr 5.18 5f Handicap Class 5 3yo+ 0-70
The Grant Tuer trained Mews House makes most appeal in this race.
Grant is one of my favourite trainers He is having an excellent year with his 4yo+ on turf this GB season with a 28% strike rate (24 wins/87 runs).
Mews House ran well last time out finishing second by ¾ lengths on good ground at Catterick in a good time. He was sweating so just by being a bit calmer he will be able to produce a better result. Strangely the first three horse’s home had all been sweating and I wonder if they wound each other up! He had to switch right last time which will have cost him a little time compared to getting a true run.
He has had a busy time recently winning on 16th August and coming 3rd a couple of weeks later on 1st September. He came out again less than a week later coming 2nd on the 7th September and he is active a week later on Thursday. To have such a busy schedule Grant must be sure he can win again and the horse must be in rude form at home as well as in his races.
He won off an official mark of 71 on good ground as a three year old and last won off a mark of 59 on good to firm. This would suggest he is still weighted to win and in his current mood can hopefully take advantage of the drop back to his best trip of 5f.
Connor Beasley is in the saddle. He is a decent rider and has won 6 from 26 in the last 14 days giving him a 23% strike rate.
