Catterick 4.00 7f Fillies Novice Stakes Class 5 3yo+

When Grant Tuer makes an appearance at Catterick it is best to take note. He is the second most successful trainer at the track this year with 6 wins from 12 runs (50%). He is bang in form at the moment with a 33% wins to runs ratio over the last 14 days. Cover Name gets the nod here. I think she has the best speed of the horses on show after looking into the form. She recently changed trainer to Grant and he raced her a few days after the swap. She came second. I guess this was in order to assess her. He will have got her just right for this race after putting her away again for just over a month. Cover Name likes good ground and goes well over 7f. She will be used to the course and jockey as they are the same as her last run.

Musselburgh 3.20 2m2f Class 6 Handicap 4yo 0-65

Tomorrows Angel has been in good form recently. She will appreciate the good ground at Musselburgh. Stamina is not an issue as she ran 3m3f over hurdles coming second in march. She did not seem to enjoy running on the all weather last time. Rowan Scott rides and he won on her over 2 miles in a class 6 handicap at Musselburgh before her all weather race so he knows what needs to be done. The Trainer Tristan Davidson has a 32% strike rate with 4yo and older on turf this gb season with 10 wins from 31 runs.

Lingfield 4.15 2m Handicap Class 6 4yo+ 0-60

Polar Cloud is ahead of the handicapper and should make the most of his quick reappearance here to win two on the bounce. He won comfortably over 1m6f in a decent time on the all weather last time out on his first try at a long distance race. His trainer Heather Main is in form with a 29% hit rate over the last 14 days with 2 wins from 7 races. That includes a winning 125/1 shot!

Wolverhampton 7.35 1m ½ f Classified Stakes Class 6 3yo+ 0-50

Krystal Maze has the best recent form by far compared to most of these. She will get a weight advantage over the older horses which will really help her cause. Her last two runs have both been over 1m and she won the penultimate one by a nk in a decent time on good ground gamely. She just lost out by a head last time on good ground. That was no disgrace. The race was won in a good time and she was headed in the final 110 yards, rallied in a gritty fashion and was just held. She is by Kodiac a sire of good sprinters. His progeny have exactly the same wins to runs ratio on an aw surface as turf.

Krystal Maze 3/1 Paddy Power

Kempton 8.30 1m3f Handicap class 3 3yo 0-90

The first thing that made me notice the Saeed bin Suroor trained Marching Army was a 7/1 to 4/1 price move on Monday night for a horse running on Wednesday. That struck me as unusual as it either meant the bookies had made a mistake or a bet had gone on so big it pushed the other prices out and smashed that one in. Saeed bin Suroor trains him and has a 27% wins to runs ratio with his 3yo on the aw this gb season. The top owner at Kempton this year is Godolphin with 12 wins from 38 which is 32 %. Oisin Murphy rides and needs no introduction. Marching Army is a lightly raced three year old gelding. Last time out he raced on Good to soft and it blunted his speed and he also got hampered. When I compare the two runs over 1m2f he had performed previously he was much better on the good to firm ground compared to the good to soft ground. The win, two races ago, in a novice stakes came in a good time and he beat Platinumcard into 3rd by 5 lengths who won a handicap next time out. Saeed bin Suroor is a good judge when considering if a horse can handle the all weather. The Sire is Ifraaj which means he should go well on the surface.

Marching Army 9/2 Bet365
